What’s changed?

On August 29, 2025 an executive order issued by Donald Trump brought an end to the exception for small-value goods to enter the U.S. tariff-free.

What does that mean?

As a result, customers who purchase goods of any value from Ireland (where we are based) and have them shipped to the U.S. receive an email requiring payment of 15% of the value of the package, plus an administration fee, before the books are released for shipping. At the time of writing, this administration fee has still not officially been confirmed to us. Tariffs are a charge on the customer in this situation, there is nothing that we can do to circumvent this.

Why has Womancraft Publishing stopped shipping to the U.S.?

These changes have created a lot of uncertainty and extra expense for both customers and sellers, and many other businesses around the world have also suspended direct shipping services to the U.S., waiting for better solutions to develop. It is possible that we may resume shipping single orders to the U.S. in future. We expect that U.S. import tariffs on our goods are here to stay, however the exact mechanisms may evolve.

So how do I get my favourite books?

We are very lucky to already be working with the lovely and wonderful Red Wheel/Weiser – our distributor in north America. From now on, rather than buying your books directly from our webstore, we will simply redirect you to the Womancraft Publishing landing page on redwheelweiser.com where you can order copies that come from our U.S. warehouse instead. The books are identical in every way, except that our stock in the U.S. will not be signed by the author or come with bookmarks.

Are there any exceptions?

Life would be no fun if it wasn’t complicated! Yes, there are exceptions.

• You can still pre-order books from our website for shipping to U.S. addresses. This is because we can ship pre-orders from our U.S. warehouse in large batches. Pre-ordered copies will also not be signed or come with bookmarks, but you will receive all other pre-order goodies as usual.
• Bonus! When you pre-order a book, you can add other books to your order and these can all be shipped together!
• E-courses purchased on our website are unaffected by the issues described above.

What if I make a purchase on the webstore with U.S. shipping details anyway?

The shop won’t automatically prevent you from doing that, as we want to keep it possible to add other books to an order when you’re pre-ordering a title. If you do place a book order (that does not contain a pre-ordered title) with U.S. shipping details we will simply refund the order, minus the small fee that we’ve paid to the payment processing company.
