Set yourself up for success with tried-and-tested tools for researching and writing your book, finding a publisher and making the best impression, selling yourself and your book, building an author platform, self-publishing what it is and how it works, and most importantly, how to earn a living from your writing at every step along the way.

Publishing Today

The terrain of publishing has seen seismic changes over the last few years. As someone who has navigated these changes as author, self-publisher and publisher, Lucy is the perfect guide.

TRADITIONAL PUBLISHING has fewer much larger publishers...and lots of newer independent publishers.

SELF-PUBLISHING has evolved and is blossoming - with massive reach via online sellers and PRINT ON DEMAND, which means you can publish more flexibly and with access to worldwide marketplaces.

THE INTERNET HAS RADICALLY SHIFTED MARKETING - social media, podcasts, YouTube, blogs allow you to connect directly with your audience.

Live classes... with time for your questions.

But don't just take our word for it...

The tools and insight you provided on writing & editing have already been extremely helpful, and I’m only into week 3! It’s giving me the courage to keep putting one foot in front of the other in writing a first time book that hasn’t let my heart go since it planted itself inside me over 2 years ago.

I was impressed with the quality of the lesson. I knew it was going to be well done but this really felt like a university course. Thank you Lucy.

Q&As

What day are the live classes on?

All the classes are weekly on a Tuesday. If you can’t make it to any live class please choose the Limited or Lifetime Access package to receive recordings, you can then submit questions in advance/afterwards via email or the Facebook group for Lucy to answer.

I can’t attend at this time…will you be running it again later in the year?

We intend to offer it as a replay course, meaning there are no live components, but all the course recordings, so it is available instantly for whoever needs it.

Are the topics addressed in the course universal to publishing everywhere?

Yes, the topics are universal, and publishing companies tend to work pretty similarly.

Is it suitable for fiction or non-fiction writers?

The course content is suitable for both fiction and non-fiction writers.

Do I need to have a concrete book idea before starting the course?

No, you do not need an idea in advance, it’s a good way to get a lay of the publishing land. But we would recommend purchasing an option with access to the recordings so you can revisit the material when you are ready to publish.

For the Mentor Program when do we need to submit our book proposal, cover letter and first chapter of up to 10 pages by?

There is no rush on having these bits ready. The course will be teaching you how to put together the proposal, submission letter and considering which publishers to pick, so we would suggest not sending anything until after the course has finished so you can take in everything and apply it. You have up to a year after the classes finish to submit them to Lucy.

Help! I can’t afford the course.

We can offer a limited number of reduced fee places for the Limited Access option. Please email us to request.
